About Ranallo’s Pizza & Chef Giuseppe Cortinovis
Meet Ezio Ranallo and Giuseppe Cortinovis — two men brought together by pizza, passion, and a shared love for serving others.
Ezio Ranallo, a veteran sergeant with over 25 years in law enforcement, was born into a life of hard work and hustle. The son of Italian immigrants, Ezio holds dual citizenship and grew up in a family pizza shop, where he learned early that service comes in many forms. By age 10, he was delivering newspapers in the cold, dodging traffic, and learning responsibility the old-school way.
Looking to reconnect with his roots and brush up on new pizza techniques, Ezio enrolled in a masterclass—taught by none other than Giuseppe Cortinovis.
Giuseppe was born in San Pellegrino Terme, Italy, where he grew up in his parents’ bakery. He began making pizza to pay his way through university, and what started as a side job quickly became a lifelong passion. In 2014, Giuseppe moved to Canada to pursue new opportunities and share his craft. Since then, he’s become a two-time Canadian Pizza Champion and a finalist in top-tier European competitions. His approach is a mix of tradition, precision, and heart.
Ezio and Giuseppe instantly connected. They stayed in touch—two men from different worlds, united by dough and dedication.
One night, Ezio had a vision: a food truck like no other. Not just a pizza truck—a mobile experience that would fuse Italian tradition with West Coast charm. He sourced a Piaggio Ape and worked with a local fabricator to build a custom gull-wing pizza box—compact, stylish, and outfitted with a Saputo stone oven. It became the first of its kind in British Columbia.
That spark of inspiration became Ranallo’s Pizza & Gelato Catering—where Ezio’s deep-rooted sense of service and Giuseppe’s award-winning expertise come together in every slice.
Whether Ezio is leading a team or manning the fire, and whether Giuseppe is behind the dough or refining recipes, the mission remains the same: feed the soul, bring people together, and serve something unforgettable.

ABOUT TAVES FAMILY FARM & TAVES ESTATE CIDERY
Farming has been a way of life for the Taves family since the 1930s, when Opa purchased his first farm in the Southlands of Abbotsford. Going into the fourth generation, Taves Family Farms continues to thrive with Loren and Corinne Taves leading the way. The farming operation now grows over 60 acres of produce where they harvest everything from eggplant and heirloom tomatoes, to a variety of currants and berries to apples and pumpkins!
Each spring, summer and fall, the Taves welcome people to the Applebarn to enjoy Easterfest, u-pick goji berries, sunflower and pumpkin patches, hay rides, a corn maze, jumping pillows, farm animals, pedal karts, pony rides, fun eats, and, most importantly, u-pick apples! Visiting the farm in fall brings 10 acres of orchard laden with different varieties of apples from tart Alkmene to sweet Honeycrisp and the Taves’ signature apple, the Jonagold. Together, this combination yields the most delicious cold-pressed apple cider and legendary apple cider slushies.

ABOUT CANNON ESTATE WINERY
Originally from the Greater Vancouver area, Andi & Justin Manuel have made the Fraser Valley their home for the past 10 years. After acquiring 20 acres on a whim with no plan of what to do with the land, Justin and Andi were inevitably left wondering, now what? At the time they bought the property, they were spending their summers in the Okanagan with their two young boys, Tate and Rudy. Loading up the boys into the chariot behind their bikes and trudging up the Kettle Valley Railroad to the Naramata bench was a family favourite activity… or maybe just Andi and Justin’s favourite activity…who knows?! Either way, the time they spent creating these beautiful memories inspired them to plant a vineyard on their property in Mt. Lehman.
They brought in an experienced viticulturist and winemaker to further study the environment to optimize their property and create the ideal growing conditions. They worked hand in hand overseeing extensive land preparation, Andi and Justin started gathering information on how to build a world class vineyard and winery. They were fortunate to connect with leading winery owners across the Okanagan, who were kind enough to lend their expertise. However, they couldn’t help but notice that looming under a lot of these productive conversations was a common belief that you cannot build a premium winery in the Fraser Valley.
On one of their drives back to the Fraser Valley, and at their most dejected point, Andi started doubting their bold endeavour. Justin, true to form, threw up his arms proclaiming, “It’s too late…the wick is lit!” From that moment, came a pact between the two of them to press on, throw aside their doubters, and prove the Fraser Valley to be a hidden gem on the rise in the Canadian winemaking space.
“It’s Too Late…the Wick is Lit!”
“Cannon” comes from the moment in time where an idea takes hold and there’s no going back. Andi describes this moment with Justin as being like a Cannon. When the idea sets in place, there’s no going back. “The wick is lit.” This has been a constant occurrence for years as Justin took on various opportunities as a growing entrepreneur. As they thought through what to name their new passion in life, they reflected on all the moments that led them to starting a winery. They realized that each of those moments that led them to their marriage, their beautiful boys (Tate & Rudy), entrepreneurial endeavors, and now this winery, started when the wick was lit. As a reminder to everyone who stares down their biggest moments in life and chooses to light the wick, they chose to name the winery “Cannon Estate Winery.”

ABOUT SINGLETREE WINERY
Join us today at Singletree Winery, our small, family-operated vineyard located in Mt. Lehman, in British Columbia’s Fraser Valley.
With extensive farming experience, our family has developed a strong work ethic, sense of responsibility, and appreciation for our agriculture, that we aim to express with Singletree wines.
The warm summers and mild winters of the Fraser Valley climate make it an ideal growing region, and Mt. Lehman’s bountiful soils also create the perfect conditions for growing lush, bumper crops of fruits and vegetables. We are realizing the potential for Mt. Lehman to be a heart of agri-business in BC.
With this in mind, under the Singletree Winery banner, and with careful attention to our land, we are committed to showing the world what the Fraser Valley is capable of. It is our intention to offer you the aromatic, crisp, and juicy flavours our BC terroir brings. We are proud of our focused portfolio of wines, crafted by our second generation family member Andrew Etsell.

ABOUT SILVEBROOK FARMS
Silverbrook has been servicing Abbotsford with this beautiful site for people to come and catch a fish for approximately 50 years. We love this long-lasting tradition and want to not only keep it alive, but improve on what was started here. Look below to see some of our improvements and info on what is to come!
Hi everyone! My name is Glenn, the new owner of Silverbrook Farm Inc. I am very excited to have the opportunity to carry on this long-lasting tradition of U-catch in Abbotsford. I caught my very first fish at Silverbrook with my grandpa and brother when I was 4 years old. Check the picture!
I hope to help facilitate some of these cherished memories to more families. I grew up locally (Cloverdale) and spent most of my summers at my Grandparent’s cabin in Point Roberts. Cabin life helped me fall in love with playing in the dirt, climbing trees, catching crabs/fish in the ocean and I naturally developed a love for the outdoors.
When school ended I spent a couple of summers forest firefighting before finding a career as an arborist. After 6 enjoyable years of climbing trees for a living, I decided it was time to switch to a different outdoor type business and I landed here. I look forward to helping the community find a convenient way to connect to the outdoors. I am of course speaking about the kids, but people of all ages sometimes need a reminder of just how good a day outside can be. Now that you know a bit more about me, I hope to learn a bit more about you.
Come by the farm and say hi!
